Involved in business since his earliest yrs Justin's background includes almost 20yrs of involvement in peak performance. As former Senior Executive Vice President for BHA Justin was responsible for reshaping the lives of thousands of senior executives from all major industries for over a decade. A solid background in Marketing, Business Development, Human Resources, General Management & Counseling served him well. Founding The Hypnosis Company in 1994, Justin had a dream of one day leaving the corporate world, though he never thought it would be as a stage entertainer. Taking on a life of its own The Hypnosis Company began sending Justin coast to coast doing Hypnosis demonstrations and teaching Hypnosis classes. Called to do a stage hypnosis show many yrs ago Justin reluctantly agreed. The show was a hit and started everything down a wildly different path. Today The Hypnosis Company is based in Justin's home town, of Las Vegas. You can catch Justin all across the USA performing hundreds of times a yr. ?SO WHO IS, JUSTIN JAMES? An Interview with Justin. Ok Justin: the main question is how did you learn hypnosis? I started learning Hypnosis as a kid. I was a huge book worm and my mom was very involved in metaphysics so as a kid I was reading books by Napoleon Hill, Wayne Dyer, Dale Carnegie, you name it I read it. Two of my big influences were Ben Franklin and Mark Twain. I would always pay attention to how people communicated. When I got older I took courses on it through College as well as building a huge library of reference material. I finally enrolled with American Pacific University (AIH) to obtain my Doctorate (in Process) of Clinical Hypnotherapy. So who are your major influences? Wow, that's a tough one. My son Gabriel for certain, however when it comes to Hypnosis I have several different influences. Milton Erickson, Richard Bandler, John Grinder, Virgina Satir, Jay Haley, Charles Tebbetts, Ormand McGill, Michael Gershman, Dave Elman & many others. Any books you might recommend? Sure, most of the people I have already referenced have books out. However I would recommend Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman. There are many other good books out there as well as teachers. So tell us more about you? Well, I am a full time single dad. My son Gabriel travels all over the USA with me and we have lots of adventures! Well that was vague, what do you do when you are not working? Well we do lots of different things. I have been riding horses and motorcycles since I was a kid, I snowboard, wakeboard, hike, camp, lots of outdoor stuff. This last yr I have taken up Kiteboarding and Gabriel & I hit the skate park 4 or 5 times a week on our bikes. Wait a second; you and your son? Yep I bought a Haro Thread one, now get this; it's called a Dirt Jump Bike. In reality it is an oversized BMX bike with shocks on the front. It's really light and I am out there with the rest of them, jumping though the park. It's nuts! Plus Gabriel loves the fact that we can go out and both be involved. Now Gabriel is 14, how does he cope with school and travel? Pretty well actually, he is in all advanced classes in the 8th grade and his school works pretty closely with us. When we are on the road they give him 2 weeks of homework at a time and I help him with it while we are on the road. On top of that I give him lots of additional homework to keep him busy. So far he maintains A's and B's in most of his classes. When we are on the road though, he is part of the show. Many times he has been invaluable with stage setup and the rest of our backend operations. I started him out when he was 8 running the digital camera; today he runs backend video production and stage with the rest of the crew. We always take time though to go play. So when you are not on the road what do you do? Well that's a loaded question. Actually I do a lot of things, currently , I do graphic and web design, video editing for myself and several others , I still teach hypnosis,, raise a 14 yr old, manage the business, and play hard!
